Do I need permission to text my contacts?

What is A2P 10DLC and why does it matter?
A2P 10DLC stands for Application‑to‑Person messaging via 10-digit long code numbers. In the U.S., businesses sending SMS or MMS through an app (like Propel3, which uses Twilio) must register their brand and campaign to meet carrier rules. This helps improve message deliverability and avoid extra fees or blocking from carriers like AT&T, T‑Mobile, and Verizon
What is involved in brand and campaign registration?
You register as a Standard Brand if your business has a U.S. EIN or similar tax ID. Then you submit a campaign use case—such as marketing, customer care, or reminders—along with sample messages. Proper registration enables higher throughput and reliability. Your Flight Crew can help you with this process.
Is the A2P10DLC approval process long or complicated?
It may take several business days, often one to two weeks. For smaller or simpler campaigns (“Low‑Volume Mixed”), approval may be faster. High Volume or multiple use‑case campaigns take longer. Having clean, accurate business information speeds the process. Your Flight Crew can help guide you through this process.
Does Propel3 require any extra setup or developer support for A2P 10DLC registaration?
No. You complete registration via the Trust Center in your account settings. We provide step-by-step guidance in the app. Once approved, you can start messaging from your assigned 10DLC numbers.
Can international businesses or sole proprietors register too?
